STOUGHTON (CBS) – The town of Stoughton and two former school officials have been named in a lawsuit alleging they failed to protect a freshman who was subjected to sexual harassment following a “sexting” incident.

WBZ NewsRadio 1030’s Lana Jones reports.

The alleged victim said she sent nude photos of herself when she was 14 to a junior boy she was attracted to. She said the boy then sent the pictures out to his friends.

“He group-pressured me repeatedly. That was why I thought it was a good idea to send the pictures to him because he was begging me to send pictures to him,” said the victim, whose voice was purposely disguised when speaking to WBZ NewsRadio 1030 on Thursday.

Afterward, she said the boy raped her. The boy later pleaded guilty to assault after the alleged rape, according to the victim’s attorney.

The victim said she was then subjected to repeated harassment by other students, but got no help from the school.

“I would go down to guidance and I would tell them what had happened, and they couldn’t really take care of it. They never did,” said the victim.

Her attorney argues the school failed to adhere to its own policies by not taking appropriate actions when informed by the girl’s parents.

The boy later pleaded guilty to assault after the alleged rape, according to the victim’s attorney.

She said the harassment was so bad she had to leave Stoughton High School.

She’s now a college freshman, but is still going through therapy.
